Media Release
I hereby grant permission to The Chicago Debate Commission dba Chicago Debates (“Chicago Debates”), or persons contracted by Chicago Debates, to record, film, photograph, tape and otherwise capture and reproduce in any manner my name, voice, likeness, images, photographs, biographical information, performance, and other elements of my identity (collectively, “My Identity”). I grant permission to edit, reproduce, display, stream, distribute and/or Chicago Debates to publish My Identity and/or information obtained during Chicago Debates’ programming (including, but not limited to, participation in tournaments and Chicago Debates sponsored events) in print, electronic, video, and/or any other media or format, for public relations, educational, promotional, publicity, or any other lawful purposes, including without limitation in printed publications, on websites, on social media, and for training purposes. I further agree that my name and identity may be revealed in connection with the likeness or image. Additionally, Chicago Debates shall have the right and license to use any biographical materials that I provide in connection with their participation in Chicago Debates programming and tournaments. Furthermore, I agree to release and hold harmless Chicago Debates, the members, trustees, agents, officers, contractors, and employees of each from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, complaints, suits or other forms of liability that may arise out of or by reason of or be caused by the use, production, distribution and promotion of the Recordings. I agree that Chicago Debates shall not be obligated to pay me or any third party any sum whatsoever, regardless of the time or method for any future use of the Recordings. I hereby acknowledge that, as between Chicago Debates and me, Chicago Debates is and will be the sole owner of all rights (including, without limitation, all copyrights) in and to all negatives, positives, prints, digital reproductions, and video recordings (collectively, the ”Materials”) in perpetuity and throughout the world. I hereby exclusively assign and transfer to Chicago Debates all right, title and interest that I may have with respect to the Materials, and I agree to sign any further documents that Chicago Debates may request to evidence, establish, maintain or protect its rights in the Materials and the use of My Identity. I release all claims against Chicago Debates with respect to copyright ownership and publication including any claim for compensation related to use of the materials.
This Release (i) is binding upon my heirs, successors, assigns, representatives, administrators and executors; and (ii) will be governed by and construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of New York (without giving effect to its conflicts of law provisions).
I acknowledge that I am not entitled to, and there is no expectation on my part, that I will or may receive any form of compensation, credit, or attribution for any exploitation of My Identity arising from or relating to Chicago Debates.

In return for being allowed to participate in Chicago Debates volunteer activities, the undersigned Volunteer or Parent/Legal Guardian of Volunteer if Volunteer is under age 18 (hereafter referred to using “I”, “me”, or “my”) releases and agrees not to sue Chicago Debates or its officers, directors, employees, sub-contractors, sponsors, agents and affiliates (“the Foundation”) from all present and future claims that may be made by me, my family, estate, heirs, or assigns for property damage, personal injury, or wrongful death arising as a result of my participation in the Volunteer Activities wherever, whenever, or however the same may occur. I understand that Chicago Debates is not in control of the safety of venues or other aspects of my participation in Volunteer Activities. I understand and agree that Chicago Debates is not responsible for any injury or property damage arising out of the Volunteer Activities, even if caused by their ordinary negligence or otherwise. I understand that participation in the Volunteer Activities involves certain risks, including, but not limited to, serious injury while on site. I am voluntarily participating in the Volunteer Activities with knowledge of the danger involved and I agree to assume and accept all risks of participation. I also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the organization for all claims arising out of my participation in the Volunteer Activities. I understand that this document is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the state in which the Volunteer Activities take place and agree that if any portion of this Agreement is invalid, the remainder will continue in full legal force and effect. I represent that, to my knowledge, I am in good health and suffer no physical impairment that would or should prevent my participation in Volunteer Activities.
